09.02.: Happy birthday Makoto Shinkai!!!
I think it's the 4th time in a row, that I managed to draw something for Shinkai's birthday. I'm glad I managed to~
So, this is meant to be some sort of birthday card. The Japanese is saying "happy birthday" (haha, who would have thought?) and I wrote it by hand, took a picture of it and then made it fit via photoshop.
A lot of referencing going on here, to get the character designs and the "portrait" part right.
So this time, I put all female protagonists (as far as possible, not including commercials) of his films together. I also tried to pay attention to the different ages, I hope this worked out.
The right side of the picture is a bit stiff and here and there mistakes are showing, but for now, I'm really happy how it turned out.
Can't wait to see the next film!
